Rhythm Owl Paul Kaye is on the road this weekend for his grand tour of downtown Racine:
Tomorrow, Fri. Aug. 3 the far northside of downtown Racine, WI on the shores of Lake Michigan at North Beach Oasis for an after work, 6-9 pm show right on the beach. Start yer weekend right....
Sat., Aug. 4, travelin' down south to everyone's favorite little tavern...Shillings Pub, 611 Wisconsin Ave., Racine WI. Stompin' the blues all night long from 9pm-1..........
The “Owls” are as much of the swampy bayou of Louisiana and mud from the Delta as they are of the deep, dark soil of Illinois. They play an eclectic mix of traditional American Roots music including; Traditional New Orleans Jazz, Pre-War Blues, Western Swing, Bluegrass, Irish and washboard/jug band music…earthy but never pretentious. This is what should be labeled “the American Gypsy Music”. At one time, Chicago was a melting pot of all these styles of music. The “Owls” are just trying to bring this back.
